10 … 11 … Yikes!

I stopped at Runner’s Depot in Davie over the weekend to ask the shoe gurus why my big toe joint was hurting a mile into my power walk. Turns out I only thought my shoes were the right size; I had to go up a size. When you run or walk, your foot juts up against the top of the shoe, unlike other sports like tennis or basketball. You need that extra half inch of space to keep the toesies happy.

Which is no sweat when you’re a dainty 7, 8 or 9.

But I’m an 11.

(Stop laughing!)

Yeah, a women’s 11. Hard enough to find, but try asking for a women’s 12!

I didn’t have the guts to buy the big, manly looking men’s 10 1/2 that Shoe Guru put me in, so I went online and ordered myself a boatlike pair of women’s 12’s. Brooks Adrenaline, for the overpronator.
