5 Worst Top Laners in League of Legends Patch 8.11

The top lane meta is in for a huge shake up with the marksman items coming in League of Legends Patch 8.11. Although some the items are obviously designed for ADCs, bruisers are definitely going to take advantage of them. Additionally, Banner of Command is getting nerfed, which will greatly affect the top lane meta. Here are the five worst top laners in League of Legends Patch 8.11.

5. Poppy

Poppy is not the worst League of Legends champion, but she is definitely weaker than other top lane choices. Poppy's main problem is her need for a wall in order to make the most of Heroic Charge. Since opponents know that she needs a wall to get her stun off Poppy is very easy to play around.

Despite being on the weaker side, Poppy is still a good counterpick to Camille and Zac, or any champion that relies on a dash move for engage.

4. Fiora

Fiora already has a low win rate and Ravenous Hydra is going to be nerfed in Patch 8.11, which will only hurt her more. To make matters worse for her, there will be an influx of damage top laners since both Banner of Command and Titanic Hydra are getting nerfed, many of which are bad matchups for Fiora.

3. Rumble

Since Liandry's Torment and Rylai's Crystal Scepter were nerfed Rumble hasn't been the same. He can't rush early magic penetration like he once could and therefore doesn't have an early power spike like he used to.

Patch 8.11 has no new AP items and although it will bring a Banner of Command nerf, the Magic Resistance from the item will still give Rumble a hard time in lane.

2. Gnar

Gnar suffers from the same problem that many champions did after Patch 8.10. His early game is relatively weak and the games end before he can accrue enough items to reach his critical mass.

Furthermore, Gnar has to play around his rage bar, something that is very easy for the other team to also play around. Without perfect timing, his ultimate will not be available during team fights, rendering the champion ineffective.

1. Galio

Galio isn't a great top laner for a couple reasons. His natural build path incorporates Magic Resistance more easily than Armor, something that tends to hurt him in the top lane since most bruisers primary form of damage is AD.

Galio also doesn't work well in the top lane because he can only use his ultimate to help mid lane. This means that everyone on the map knows where Galio is headed when he disappears and can simply play passively until he returns top.
