Blast-Ended Skrewt is a name that sends shivers down any Wizards Unite player's spine. These nightmarish creatures are famous in Wizarding World lore and have now crawled their way into Niantic's new game. The real question is: what exactly are they?

Blast-Ended Skrewt in Wizards Unite
Blast-Ended Skrewts were originally bred by Hagrid in the autumn of 1994 as a cross between the Manticore and the Fire Crab.
These creatures resemble ten feet long, large, heavily armored scorpions with legs at odd angles--and are exceptionally aggressive. Males have stingers and females have suckers to drain blood from their prey. Several were placed in the maze that served as last challenge of the Triwizard Tournament. There is currently only one left in the world.
In Wizards Unite, the Blast-Ended Skrewt is a medium threat-level Care of Magical Creatures Foundable. It has a 2 in 16 chance of spawning and are often presented as being trapped in a bubble Confoundable. It requires four fragments for its image to be placed in the Registry.
The Blast-Ended Skrewt was one of the 16 Foundables featured in the Wizards Unite Task Force Emergency event that took place on June 29 of this year.
