Centre Co. resident sentenced for intentionally causing severe crash in State College

Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — A Centre County resident has been sentenced to jail time for intentionally causing a severe crash in State College that injured three people.

Last December, police charged Letra Renninger for reportedly causing a multi-vehicle crash along South Atherton Street.

Police say Renninger was accused of driving through a busy intersection, at a high-rate of speed, just prior to the crash.

Police say Renninger admitted to intentionally driving into oncoming traffic, stating "I don't give a [expletive] anymore."

On Tuesday, Renninger appeared in Centre County court and was sentenced to serve 2-and-a-half to five years in state prison.

During the sentencing hearing, Renninger's attorney cited suicidal thoughts and mental health issues as the reason for causing the crash.
