Married chefs Patty Lopez and Nunzio Fuschillo went hunting during the pandemic for a cheap kitchen for their new bakery, Effe Café – and they found it inside a Marathon gas station in Cooper City. Now, amid the gentle ambiance of the gas pumps, Lopez and Fuschillo make everything in-house: fresh-baked baguettes, s’mores brownies, guava-cheesecake rolls, roast beef (roasted and sliced in-house), breakfast burritos and sourdough toast with homemade hummus.
