Overwatch Hero Rotation: Hero Bans for April 2-April 9
The new set of banned heroes in Overwatch includes the following:
Tank
- Wrecking Ball
Damage
- Hanzo
Support
- Mercy
Blizzard introduced hero rotations in Overwatch Competitive Season 21 as a way to keep the meta game from stagnating. By constantly shifting which heroes are playable, the theory goes, no single strategy can become dominant for longer than the week in which its component heroes are available.
Last week hitscan players took a hit, as McCree, Soldier: 76, Sombra and Widowmaker all shifted out of playability alongside D.Va and Baptiste.
The hero rotation feature is an experiment, and Blizzard remains committed to changing it, or even disabling it, at any point in the competitive season, provided it isn't meeting its goal of a constantly shifting meta game.
