For starters, players won't be able to just click a Poké Ball in their inventory and have it automatically hit the Pokémon they are trying to catch. Players will have to aim their Joy-Con and swing it to throw a Poké Ball towards the Pokémon they want to catch.
There will be a ring around the Pokémon that informs players on how difficult it will be to catch the specific Pokémon. It will either be green, yellow, orange, or red. The farther from red the color is, the easier the Pokémon will be to catch. Throwing a Poké Ball inside the shrinking ring increases the success rate of capture, especially if the circle is small. Players can use berries to make catching Pokémon a little easier.
To make the games a little more immersive, players can purchase the Poké Ball Plus, which functions as a replacement for the right Joy-Con during play. It's a controller that resembles a Poké Ball, and a controller that also works for Pokémon GO.
