Apex Legends Vault Key: How to Enter the Loot Vault

With King's Canyon disabled for the introduction of Apex Legends Season 3, players are now exploring World's Edge in massive numbers. All those eyes have found three locations on the map that are home to mysterious vaults. Through the doors of these vaults, players can see piles of purple and gold loot.

When pinged, these vault doors will prompt characters to demand a vault key to get inside. According to a hint on a loading screen vault keys can be found by shooting cargo bots, but no keys have yet been found.

Each door has a timer on it counting down to 1 p.m. ET Wednesday Oct. 9 and the words "Sec Update" written beside it. Exactly what will happen when these countdowns hit zero is a mystery, but odds are it will affect these vaults in some way. It may open the doors to potential looters, or officially add vault keys to the cargo bot loot pool if they're not already in there.

For now, we'll have to wait for the countdowns to run their course.
