The Kratt Brothers excite youngsters with stories of their past adventures.

To children who watch their shows on PBS, brothers Chris and Martin Kratt are rock stars.

The adventurous duo hosted two story times on Sunday at the A Day for Children event at Nova Southeastern University in Davie. A crowd of young fans filled the Miniaci Theatre, screaming out names of animals they wanted the brothers to talk about.

A family from Atlanta made the trip to Davie just to see the stars of “Kratts’ Creatures,” “Zoboomafoo” and the animated show “Wild Kratts” in person. The brothers were in the middle of touring around a dozen cities over the past couple of weeks to promote the second season of “Wild Kratts,” which is produced at their animated studio.

“We are basically animating animals that basically have never been animated before,” said Martin Kratt. “We really wanted to have our production group and research all together so we can animate the animals right. We want to portray the natural history of the animal and the reality of the animal.”

The Kratt Brothers were a popular attraction at the event that offered free health care and education for children up to age 15. Festivities also included music, a bounce house, face painting and raffles.
