Line2 App allows calls from iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad without wasting AT&T minutes

The Line2 app adds a second phone line to your iPhone that works over 3G and WiFi networks, which means you can make calls without wasting any AT&T minutes. Yes, free calls. Whenever you’re in a WiFi hotspot, Line2 will make sure your calls are made over the Internet for free.

This app easlily doubles the worth of your iPhone and phone contract (works on iPod Touch 2nd generation and the soon-to-be-released iPad) by cloning your iPhone’s features, allowing you to use the same dial pad and apps like visual voicemail and contacts lists. It costs 99 cents, plus $15 a month service fee. You can also take advantage of a free 30-day trial).

Line2 allows iPhone users to make and receive calls anywhere in the U.S. and active calls automatically switch from WiFi to 3G service as you move in and out of network ranges. You can also make conference calls.

The company apparently pulled the app from iTunes temporarily after suffering a Denial of Service attack, but I was able to purchase my copy easily.

Now is the time to get ear ointment, begin neck exercises and prepare for some long cell phone conversation at no cost.
