Mass Effect Military Specialization Choice Backgrounds Explained

As it’s popular in the RPG genre, each Mass Effect has its own set of classes. Six in total.

Adepts are durable and powerful users of mass effect fields. They can use biotics to move objects, including enemies. They can only use light armor and may only gain specialist through training with pistols.

Soldiers fight from afar; it gets improved health, a wide selection of weapons and can utilize heavy armor. 

Engineers are the tech specialists. They can swiftly manipulate the environment with specific talents. They can also repair or modify technical equipment. During battle their primary focus is to heal the party, debuff enemies (disabling weapons and lowering shields) They can only utilize light armor. 

Vanguards combine the offensive powers of the Adept and Soldier. With access to various weapons and armor and biotics, Vanguard's main goal is to quickly take out enemies with force. Vanguards start with light armor but can upgrade to medium armor.

Sentinels are the sole true support characters in the game. They also combine tech and biotics to manipulate the environment, disable and track enemies, or defend the party. Their main focus is to heal the party with advanced medical training and protect it with kinetic barriers.

Infiltrator, the teach-savy warrior, wins battles by quickly disabling and killing enemies. They focus on unlocking alternate routes, gaining access to good equipment, and obtaining advantageous positions over enemies in combat.
