Students will be able to access information in a variety of ways. Students enjoy reading- especially when the reading material is accessible and thought provoking. I often assigned a "Book of the Month" project where students are required to check out a book from my classroom library that supplement the learning that were doing in class. These books will provide a huge incentive-especially for my reluctant readers- to participate and complete this assignment. Ultimately, one of the most proven ways that we raise the achievement gap is to encourage students to read. These books will go a long way to help achieve this goal.
