There's not a way to fix this from the player's end, but 2K Games have officially acknowledged the issue and have promised a fix to come soon. 2K assures that the VC has not been lost and that they're actively working on fixes for all of the game's launch issues.
Some players have reported success by updating the game or reloading the application. If this does not resolve your issue, you'll have to wait until 2K rolls out a fix for everyone. In the mean time, hold off on buying VC from the shop.
