Soul Wars Releasing This Weekend

As whole new epic chapter in Warhammer's Age of Sigmar is about to begin with the release of what looks to be their best box set to date. Soul Wars is the next stage of the Age of Sigmar story, where the forces of Heaven and Death clash once more reigniting an age old war.

Soul Wars is looking to be the very best boxed set for Warhammer Age of Sigmar, as it is jam packed with tons of brand new content, ranging from two never-before-seen armies, the wonderfully new edition core book and plenty more. Check out it's contents in the unboxing video below.

Soul Wars Box Set - Heaven & Death Clash Again

The box set is the first place to acquire miniatures from the new Sacrosanct Chamber and Nighthaunt sets. All the miniatures, from your frontline infantry to the impressive heroes are push-fit, making assembly fast and easy. So if you're looking to get started right away, all you need is a pair of clippers and you'll be rolling dice in no time.

These miniatures are the most anticipated models as they are are the first in a whole new direction for the Stormcast Eternals and to Death getting its first major release after many years.

First up is the Sacrosanct Chamber which are comprised of magic users and engineers who have harnessed both specializations for the very important task of annihilating the enemy. You'll find the very first Stormcast Eternals Wizards and an all new Celestar Baliista, their very first war machine. Both of which would make great additions to any army, old or new.

On the opposing side are the dread legions of the Nighthaunt, the ghostly new legions of Nagash that are hell bent on conquering the Mortal Realms. Having waited so long for new additions, these beautifully detailed models certainly made all that waiting worthwhile.

For the more serious players and aficionados, the Core Book is a must have from the box set. It is a 320-page compendium filled to the brim with art, rules and lore that will prove to be the ultimate resource.

On top of that you'll also find a Getting Started booklet to teach you how to play, for some lore and world building the 32-page Battle for Glymmsforge booklet can fill you in on the background of both armies during their first encounter with each other in the opening battles of the Soul Wars. For more lore, you can also find the first chapter to Josh Reynold's Soul Wars novel in the box as well.

And as always, to help make things easier for players in rule checking and rolls, 13 new-format warscroll cards are included along with turquoise dice and measuring sticks so you can get started right after you've built all your models.

Malign Sorcery - All Your Magic In a Box

With the Wizards joining the fight in this new edition, you'll definitely want this expansion that adds 13 new endless spells and sorceries that can greatly affect the whole game.

The box set comes with warscroll cards and a supplementary book that contains a closer look at the magical lore in the Age of Sigmar. For larger games the book contains 84 magical items to use in-game, which adds a ton more customization options available to your heroes. You can also find a set of Pitched Battle profiles for matched play with two Malign Sorcery battleplans for matched play that can occur anytime during a game if both players host endless spells. There are also painting guides for the endless spells for you to prepare for your tabletop game.

General's Handbook 2018

For matched play gamers, the General's Handbook adds more options with 12 more battelplans, bringing you a total of 18 battleplans if you combine the Core Book and 20 with Malign Portents. For fans of open play, a much more expanded battleplan generator allows you to generate new plans much easier than before. Aerial Battles are also added into the mix where combat that occurs in the skies can affect the battlefield or bring the fight to the stratosphere for a full on aerial skirmish.

For those who want to play massive and I mean REALLY MASSIVE battles, Gathering of Might is what you want. These new rules bring players together with armies that number in the hundreds to duke it out on the table with rules that have been streamlined for easier gameplay. These include deployment of your army, combat as well as legendary traits, spells and artefacts that allow your armies feats and champions stand out among the chaos.

Thes new edition for Age of Sigmar is very exciting and worth getting for anyone looking to jump into Warhammer with a friend, you can get it when it releases 30th June.
