Renting a house or apartment in Florida could save you a lot of money — it just depends on what city you’re living in.
A national WalletHub study has ranked Tampa the 10th best city to rent a house or apartment, with Orlando trailing not far behind at number 16. The South Florida city of Hialeah, however, was ranked the 2nd worst place to rent a home, the analysis found.
The study analyzed 150 cities around the country for “rental attractiveness and quality of life,” according to the report. Factors like historical rental-price changes, cost of living, and job availability were measured in order to come up with the rankings.
The best city to rent nationwide is Scottsdale, AZ., according to the study. The worst? Oakland, CA.
