Celine’s success is the culmination of a long journey from its origins as a children’s shoe business in the period immediately after the Second World War. Since the 1960s it has been transformed into the luxury maison so widely known today, with the maison continuing its evolution since 2018 under French couture legend Hedi Slimane, who as artistic, creative and image director has brought a more edgy, youth-driven, rock ’n’ roll aesthetic.
