Fictitious romantic pairings of characters is the norm in almost any fandom, and the Overwatch community is no different. With that, here are the top five most popular Overwatchships we'd totally be happy to see!
5. Widowtracer
Lena Oxton and Amélie Lacroix, better known as Tracer and Widowmaker, are famously at odds with each other. With Tracer in Overwatch and Widowmaker as a member of Talon, these two have been featured battling each other in two different Overwatch cinematics.
Perhaps the animosity between these two characters makes the idea of a romantic relationship between them all the more irresistible?
4. Reaper: 76
Like Tracer and Widowmaker, Reaper and Solider: 76 are also in Overwatch and Talon, respectively. One thing that Tracer and Widowmaker don't have is a long history, but these two old men do.
Gabriel "Reaper" Reyes was enlisted into the US's Soldier Enhancement Program with Jack Morrison (Soldier: 76) and they even started in Overwatch together. Currently, Reaper seems to be on a mission to eliminate all former members of Overwatch. Maybe Solider: 76 could use their history together to convince Reaper to come back from the dark side?
3. Meihem
"Meihem" is the pairing of Mei and Junkrat - two of the most unlikely characters to find romance with one another. One is a heroic scientist who deals mainly with frosty technology, and the other is a pyromaniac obsessed with explosions.
They say opposites attract, and judging by the popularity of this ship and the volumes of adorable fan art, the old saying might be right.
2. McHanzo
Hanzo Shimada and Jesse McCree are two characters with similar issues from their pasts, both seeking redemption, from those around them and from within.
Hanzo grew up in the Shimada clan, forced to make tough decisions and even forced to kill his own brother, Genji. McCree is a former member of the Deadlock Gang, a group of outlaws that dealt in illegal weapon trafficking. Maybe sharing troubled pasts would bring these two heroes together?
1. Pharmercy
Arguably the most popular Overwatch pairing is that of Mercy and Pharah. Their synergy in game (which is also referred to as a Pharmercy) would seem to translate to a fictional relationship. Both heroes have spent their lives protecting the innocent and heroically facing danger for those in need.
With so much in common (including wings) it only seems natural that these two might find love.
