Acting as the face of the game, Tracer is one of the most popularly known heroes in Overwatch. Even for those who have never played the game, Tracer's image is front and center on the box art of the game.
However, on the cover art for the game, Tracer is dressed in her "Classic" skin. In game, as any Tracer main will know, she has a vast variety of different skins, many of which are beautiful, cool, and colorful.
It can be hard to pick a favorite, but not anymore. Here is every single Tracer skin, ranked from worst to best.
18. Royal Blue
Starting off with one of Tracer's Rare skins, Royal Blue doesn't have much going for it. The muted color scheme is certainly aesthetically pleasing to the eye, but on the battlefield it doesn't have the pop to fit Tracer's presence.
17. Neon Green
Similar to Royal Blue, Neon Green is a fairly standard Rare skin for Tracer. Her trademark outfit doesn't exactly match the green perfectly, and the skin looks like a basic recolor. Besides a few highlights, Tracer's Rare skins are more or less mild recolors of her Classic outfit.
16. Rose
Jumping into Tracer's Epic skins, the seasonal event Year of the Rooster boasts some unforgettable cosmetics. Tracer's "Rose" skin is no exception. Unforgettable though it may be, however, it isn't exactly befitting of such a mobile, high-energy hero like Tracer. The muted, classy palette is pretty, but belongs in a museum more than it belongs on the famous hero.
15. Sprinter
The weaker of Tracer's two Legendary "Summer Games" skins, Sprinter is essentially exactly what it seems to be. This faux-Olympic sprinter outfit is well-designed, but a bit of a snore compared to Tracer's better skins. The United Kingdom flag, however, is a nice touch.
14. Hot Pink
Still a Rare recolor skin, Hot Pink works better than Royal Blue or Neon Green thanks to the way Tracer's jacket matches the new color. The brown and white color scheme complements the pink outfit better than some of her other Rare skins, landing it at 14 on this list.
13. Posh
This understated, muted Epic skin is one of Tracer's better standard skins. Essentially a white and gold recolor, the reflective quality of the gold detailing brings the skin together, making it hard to ignore on the battlefield. It's just classy and flashy enough to fit the young hero.
12. Cadet Oxton
Coming straight out of Overwatch comic Tracer: Uprising, the Cadet Oxton skin calls back to Tracer's first deployment as a member of Overwatch. During the King's Row Uprising, the Null Sector omnics killed and injured thousands. A young Lena Oxton was on the scene, and this outfit captures the somewhat "retro" aesthetic of the comic.
11. Track and Field
The superior of the two Legendary skins that are part of the annual seasonal Summer Games, Tracer's Track and Field outfit sports a color scheme that better fits the hero. The orange and white call back to her Classic outfit, and this skin works as a more casual alternative outfit to Tracer's trademark duds.
10. Punk
One of the most imaginative of Tracer's skins, Punk is a call back to the punk rock aesthetic made popular partially in Tracer's home country, the United Kingdom. The "cotton candy" coloration scheme works well with the mismatched, haphazard detailing on the rest of the outfit. Punk Tracer is ready to bring chaos and excitement to any battle.
9. T. Racer
Stylized (both in name and outfit) as a "Speed Racer" reference, the ace driver Tracer is certainly fit to wear this sleek racing outfit. This Legendary skin's detailing, complete with faux-sponsor patches akin to a sponsored driver, achieve the competitive racing aesthetic excellently. In this skin, Tracer blinks around the battle in style.
8. Mach T
Essentially the same idea as the previous Legendary skin T. Racer, Mach T is a "louder" version of a competitive racing outfit. The bright blue contrasts well against the darker orange, rounding out well with the same corporate detailing of the T. Racer skin, landing it at no. 8.
7. Electric Purple
The best of Tracer's Rare skins, Electric Purple succeeds for a few simple reasons. First, the specific purple used is vibrant, rich, and hard to miss. The real highlight that ties this skin together, however, is the tint of the glasses. These well-done, simple stylistic choices land Electric Purple the seventh spot.
6. Jingle
This Legendary skin from the seasonal Winter Wonderland event is a no-brainer as one of Tracer's best skins. The stylishly re-imagined elf costume is equal parts sleek and flashy, and the undeniable holiday cheer it brings with it makes it an excellent addition on the battlefield.
5. Graffiti
Moving into the top five, the grungy Legendary skin Graffiti gives Tracer a similarly rebellious appearance to the Punk skin. Sporting a gas mask and hooded sweatshirt, splattered with paint, Graffiti Tracer really brings to mind a young hoodlum Lena Oxton stirring up trouble in back alleys.
4. Classic
Not enough can be said for just how iconic this skin is, so the Classic outfit lands inside the top four on the list. The simple color scheme and trademark goggles are the face of Overwatch, and for that, this skin will always be in style.
3. Ultraviolet
The Legendary-rarity skin Ultraviolet is a standard recolor of the Punk skin, but this color scheme works even better. Somehow creating a more "goth" Tracer, Ultraviolet's splashes of purple make it stand out against the rest. The white hair, however, brings the whole look together.
2. Sporty
Sometimes, simple is better when it comes to skins. This Epic-rarity skin is sparsely decorated, but overall sleekly designed. It's easy to imagine Tracer blinking around the battlefield with incredible speed sporting this outfit. The green highlights and goggles land this skin the #2 spot.
1. Slipstream
The only Tracer skin not sporting her trademark Chronal Accelerator, this skin calls back to Tracer's origin story. Selected to test the "Slipstream" teleporting fighter, an accident left both the fighter and Lena Oxton missing. Presumed dead, Tracer was brought back to stability by Winston's device, becoming the hero we all know today.
This skin earns the top spot for its retro design and color scheme, but the tinted shades are perhaps the most important part.
