Tuesday Prediction Post: FAU vs. MTSU

What time is it? Where am I? Why do I smell like a cigarette butt? Who is that inside my head trying to hammer his way out? Why does my mouth feel like a mouse has made its nest inside of it?

Oh, OK. It is coming back to me now. Nashville. Broadway Street or Boulevard or whatever it is.

Whew. New Orleans flashback.

Anyway, I have arisen, carefully, and greeted the new day, however queasy the tummy, thick the tongue and hurting the head.

It is the Tuesday Prediction Post. Time to gather up the stunned stockbrokers, sleazy mortgage-backed-securities salesmen, dwellers of Main Street, angry constituents, talking heads, bailout boosters and free-market believers.

It is FAU vs. Middle Tennessee on Blackout Night at Floyd Stadium in the berg of Murfreesboro.

But, before we get to that, HBHD was on the loose last night? –

The bartender at Second Fiddle, where the festivities began. –

FAU Cheerios before heading back to the hotel. – Back to bizzness. FAU opens conference play tonight, so it is time to pick a winner.

DIGGER UP (2-2)

The Amazing Burrowing Owl was ready to go at it. He predicted the Gophers blowout, so was feeling his oats. –

– No mistake, emphatic pick, FAU WINS, according to The Digger. – MEDICARE MIKE (1-3)

MM was at the practices this week, despite the weird sked. –

– Mike, surprise, goes with FAU.

CHEERIOS (1-2)

– Short and sweet. Cheerios pick FAU.

DT PICK (1-3)

I still haven?t been able to get a vid, so we will go with a still of Gabriella Defilippi

Gabby says: ?The Owls are going to beat Middle Tennessee, We did it last year, and we can do it again. Go Owls!?

DT goes with FAU

BEVERLEE IS THE BEST

Well, bad news. Beverlee did not make the trip.

?I am getting discouraged and thought I should stay away. Maybe Rusty will do good,? Beverlee said.

She does like the fact that this is a night game. ?The last few games, it has been rush, rush, rush. They had to get up so early to eat and meet and then get to the game.?

Win or lose, Beverlee will be on the sidelines for the Troy game.

MY TURN

From my hotel room in Nashville either late last night or early this morning? –

– Earlier in the week on the OwlsNest live blog I predicted a 35-17 FAU win. But then Maryland beat Clemson and I had enough brews on Broadway to clear my head. FAU 31, MTSU 24.

I do like the way the players went about their business in practice. I have faith that the Sun Belt opener has gotten their attention.

Now, back to bed.

Later?
