Cote France Cafe

This 8-year-old café in Royal Palm Place has dropped its sandwiches for dinner and launched a French wrap and crepes menu to supplement their specialties, starting at 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
“We would like to try to something new for American people. Our buckwheat French wraps are vegan, gluten- and dairy free,” says co-owner Nicolas Bolo, who hails from Toulouse, France. “In France, we call them galettes. A lot of people know crepes but not galettes. The galette is savory and not sweet. In France, the crepe is sweeter for dessert.”
Among the dozen galettes, the best-selling include the three-cheese Complet with egg, sautéed mushrooms and ham or turkey; The Alpine with potato, onions, bacon and Reblochon cheese; The Norwegian with smoked salmon, sautéed leeks and sour cream; and The Mississippi with chicken, egg, tomato sauce, cheese and pesto ($9-$14.50).
Of the 10 crepes ($5-$9.90), standouts are lemon with salted butter, adorned with lemon rind, and banana with toasted almonds and Nutella or chocolate sauce.
Savory alternatives include French onion soup ($6.95), croque monsieur ($7.30) and potato pie with onions, prosciutto and sour cream ($7.90).
