Where is Modern Family’s Lily, aka Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, now? The award-winning child star is in a band, has a YouTube channel with mum – and still hangs with Sofía Vergara and Jesse Tyler Ferguson

Today, the talented young actress is 16 years old, and if her Instagram is anything to go by, she’s been living life to the max since the last episode of Modern Family wrapped in early 2020.

So what has Anderson-Emmons been up to – and has she kept in touch with her on-screen dads?

Fans of the sitcom watched Cam and Mitchell’s daughter grow up on the show, going from a sweet toddler in season three, to a sassy tween capable of delivering one killer line after another. She was born in 2007.

However, when fans followed her TikTok channel in 2021, they were shocked to see how adult she suddenly looked. “I refuse to believe that Lily from Modern Family is this old now,” wrote one user on her page. “I was about to say you look like Lily from Modern Family … Then I realised,” wrote another, adding a “dead” emoji.

She still hangs out with the cast

Anderson-Emmons has always been close with her adopted dads on the show, especially Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who says working with the young star made him want children of his own, according to People.

Since then, the pair seem to have made it a regular thing to meet up, going to plays together. More recently, Tyler Ferguson even attended Anderson-Emmons’ school theatre production. “Congrats, Aubrey!” he wrote in a post about the show on Instagram. “You were so great! Love you! You make a pretend papa proud,” he added.

And it’s not just her fake dads she keeps in touch with.

In early November, castmate Sofía Vergara (aka Gloria Pritchett) gathered the whole gang together for a reunion at her Beverly Hills home, according to The Today Show. She posted several images of the group cuddling up to each other and howling with laughter.

She sings and plays guitar in a rock band

Since leaving the show, Anderson-Emmons has clearly embraced her musical side. She’s been passionate about singing from a young age, and her mum shared a video of her belting out Adele’s “Someone Like You” all the way back in 2012 that went viral.

Since then, she’s often posted videos of her singing on TikTok – but it’s guitar that she seems to be most into these days. Apparently practising day and night, she is in a band called October with three friends, and the quartet have already had several gigs in Hollywood.

According to The Things, Anderson-Emmons has been dating fellow musician Phoenix Reed since at least 2022, and the pair’s Instagram pages seem to confirm their romance. Earlier this month, the Modern Family alum posted a whimsical photo of herself holding a guitar, underneath which Reed immediately wrote “so beautifulll”.

The couple also visited Disneyland together in September 2022 and, despite only being 16, have already said I love you to each other, with Reed referring to Anderson-Emmons as his “soulmate”, per the same source. Cute!

She’s big on social media

Alongside her impressive social media presence on TikTok – Anderson-Emmons already has 1.3 million followers – she also started a YouTube channel with her mum Amy called FoodMania Review. The channel has accumulated over 41,000 subscribers and features the pair sampling everything from Calbee crisps to Norwegian food sent to them by fans.

“We have been crazy busy with normal life these days,” the mother-daughter duo wrote on their last post in 2021, which may explain their absence since then.
