Worst to First: League of Legends Sword-Bearing Champions

Summoner's Rift is filled with all sorts of weapons, many of which are sentimental to the champions who use them.

But we shouldn't forget about the most classic weapon in any lore, the sword

11. Leona the Radiant Dawn

Though a prominent sword bearer, Leona's main source of power comes from her Shield of Daybreak, and her ability to harness solar energy with her ultimate. Leona is able to use her Zenith Blade to dash to enemies, but it's not her main damage dealing ability.

Leona carries a sword, but the damage it deals is lackluster, making her the worst sword using champion in League of Legends.

10. Shen the Eye of Twilight

Seen in many of his skins as a large sword bearing champion, Shen's sword actually has little to do with his in-game damage. Shen's role as a tank makes him a useful sponge for soaking damage, but sadly he deals very little.

Shen's swords are aesthetically marvelous, but in reality, do little when dueling his opponents. All in all, Shen isn't one of the best sword users.

9. Gangplank the Saltwater Scourge

This bruiser-esque top pirate is known around the rift for his scimitar sword. However, Gangplank's sword is only incorporated in his auto-attacks and deals little damage. His main source of damage comes from his powder kegs, pistol, and Cannon Barrage.

Like a true pirate, Gangplank is heavily reliant on his artillery to be relevant and therefore doesn't compare to League of Legends' stronger sword champions.

8. Kayla the Judicator

Kayle's reckoning with her blazing sword is swift and relentless, so don't approach her when her Righteous Fury is off cooldown. Kayle's sword will certainly pack a punch and is not to be underestimated.

However, her sword damage is highly reliant on her cooldowns, and she scales off ability power and not attack damage. Her sword is more magical in nature, and so for sword wielding, she ranks around the middle of the pack.

7. Master Yi the Wuju Bladesman

Master Yi is a self-proclaimed mystical martial artist who will shred you to ribbons if you allow him to get four items. His swiftness on foot and with his sword make him a powerful blade wielder in League of Legends.

Though he certainly has an unmatched ability to slice through teams, much of his powers stem from him and not from his sword.

6. Yasuo the Unforgiven

Yasuo, the master of the wind is certainly a fearsome swordsman and should be respected by his enemies.

With the ability to harness the wind through his sword, Yasuo makes for one of the flashier sword using champions in League of Legends. His mastery of his blade and elements alike have earned him the spot as the No. 6 best sword champion.

5. Fiora the Grand Duelist

Fiora is one of the most skillful and precise swordsmen/women on Summoner's Rift, and as a classical duelist her every strike is calculated.

Her lunging, jabbing, and blocking with her blade is what make's Fiora a unique and potent sword user. Her sword skill spans beyond brute strength.

4. Riven the Exile

Riven's abilities charge her blade for empowered basic attacks, and she's known as one of the most dangerous sword bearers in the game.

Able to finish off any foe with her Blade of the Exile, Riven's sword is enormous, powerful and deserving of a top spot.

3. Tryndamere the Barbarian King

Tryndamere's insane brute strength, huge sword, and barbarian-like nature make him a terrifying menace.

Wielding one of the biggest swords in the game, Tryndamere will slap you to death with only a few lethal blows.

2. Garen the Might of Demacia

Garen seeks justice on Summoner's Rift and courageously carries his enormous blade to vanquish any foe.

With his Judgement, Decisive Strike, and Demacian Justice, Garen can completely pummel any enemy. He's one of the most iconic characters in League of Legends history.

1. Aatrox the Darkin Blade

Aatrox is a legendary warrior who wields a blood drinking sword. Nothing can be as terrifying as Aatrox dying, coming back to life, and continuing to slash you to pieces.

With easily the most fearsome sword, Aatrox scoffs at the puny lesser swords carried by his inferior opponents. Emerging superior over legions of enemies, Aatrox is without a doubt the No. 1 best League of Legends sword user.
